Blogging and Text Message Marketing

In the last Mobile Marketing training that I participated, the instructed said that all business can use and benefit from mobile marketing especially text message marketing.  This left me with a challenge because my imagination sort of limit me to think that all business can use text message marketing. So I started to think outside the box and then I came up with bloggers and how they could use this strategy.

First, let me say that just recently I realized the amount of money that some blogs are pulling on a monthly basis from their advertising.  I actually so a blog featured on TV of a person that inadvertently  created a sensation with pregnant women and in essence changed her economic life because of all the advertisers that want to reach her followers. Now that I understand that blogging can be a money maker then I was able to come up with my ideas on how bloggers can use text message marketing, here it goes:

1. Setting up a text message club will be an excellent way of build followers list.  The blogger offer something for free for the readers to sign up to their club. Also encourage those readers to ask other to join the club.

2. A blogger can use their club to notify when a new blog is posted straight to their cell phones, when a new advertiser is added which could include a great savings on a new product for example.

3. The text message club members could receive exclusive offers from you and perhaps you could arrange to give them special offers from your sponsors. Thus creating a buzz and making your blog different from the many others out there in internet land.

4. Use it to notify about events such as webinars, guest bloggers etc.

5. Maybe even announce a mobile optimized blog version on your online blog

The purpose of adding this marketing strategy is to give your blog a sort of cutting edge feeling.

A text message marketing a strategy to engage followers with mobile marketing.  Your follower will opt in to your txt msg club and you will provide them with timely information in a more personal matter. 

Adding text message marketing is simply and easier than you think plus the cost makes it a must try for any business including blogging.  What you think?
